Fall offers a number of activities and things to do with your significant other and kids, but if you suffer from back pain, you probably find yourself spending more time inside. Back pain can range from a dull ache that leaves you feeling blue to a throbbing and shooting pain that makes breathing difficult.
No matter what type of back pain plagues you, you can still enjoy some fun activities during the fall months that won’t increase your pain.
Visiting an apple orchard is a great idea. These orchards really come to life in the autumn, and you can see the workers gathering apples and creating products from those applies. Even if walking around the orchard makes your back ache, you’ll still find other things you can do. You might enjoy a tasting of different ciders, spend some time going through the apples your kids pick and making dishes that incorporate those apples at home.
Making things at home is a fun fall activity that won’t lead to back pain. Ask your kids to bring in some leaves and pine cones that they find in the yard, and turn those outdoor elements into home decorations. A few pine cones and tree branches can create an elegant centerpiece. You can also help your kids make their own scrapbooks of the leaves they find by gluing the leaves onto pieces of paper and decorating those pages with markers and stickers.
Depending on the level of pain that you feel every day, you might find that sitting in a simple kitchen chair helps you feel better. While sitting down, use fall ingredients to create delicious dishes for the whole family. As long as you can preheat an oven, you can create pumpkin cheesecake, apple tarts, roast pork with apples and roasted apple seeds. You’ll also find some no bake dishes that you can make with your kids.
Visiting a corn maze is another activity that won’t make your back hurt. Imagine the fun that you’ll have walking through the maze and trying to find a way out with your kids and spouse. Many mazes even have hay bales placed around the inside of the maze, giving you a place to stop and rest during your visit.
Why should you race around town and spend hours doing things that make your back hurt? This fall, you can visit and orchard, hit the corn maze and spend time baking and making crafts at home.
