A recent study published on PubMed.gov, a US National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health, states that there are more back injuries than any other injury in the US. The study was conducted to determine early predictors that would cause someone to need lumbar spine surgery within three years of the conducting the study.

After sending one portion of the test subjects who they considered high risk for lumbar surgery, they saw a significant reduction in the number of surgery for those patients under 35, women, Hispanics, and those whose first visited a chiropractor before a surgeon.

Align Your Spine and Skip SurgeryOver 42% of those who first saw a surgeon underwent the surgery, compared to only 1.5% of people who first saw chiropractors. As we see, there is an amazing correlation from those who first see a surgeon compared to those that first see a chiropractor.

These statistics are absolutely astounding when you think that most of the people who received the invasive surgery could have potentially avoided it if they would have started treatments by a doctor of chiropractic.

Back injuries are nothing to laugh about. Left untreated, many will develop chronic back problem that could cause pain for years. Chiropractic care relieves pressure in the spine in order to balance your body’s natural position and bring your body back into alignment.
