Wellness Wednesday – Change Isn’t Always Comfortable… Allow Yourself Grace

Hello, you guys. Welcome to this week’s Wellness Wednesday. This week I wanted to address change. Our entire world is going through a whole shift, a whole change on an entire global scale, national scale and our own individual cities, we’re going through a lot of change as far as different businesses starting to reopen more and things like that as well. There’s a lot of different changes that are going on and change can be really uncomfortable and really scary and so I think it’s something that’s important to address because I think it’s something that a lot of people feel they need to just be okay about or force this front about, but we’re all human.

If change was super comfortable, it would be really easy to just force to happen. But that’s not always the case. Just on a smaller scale with businesses and in different things starting to open up, I’ve been noticing a lot of people who are starting to go back to work and fields that have been closed have been experiencing a lot of increased just tension and soreness in their bodies because your body’s conditioned to do the activities that we’re used to doing. When you haven’t been doing that for a while, it’s a huge change to your body. It’s a huge change to your routine.

I’ve heard a lot of people frustrated that you can’t just jump right back into it. It’s like starting a new workout routine that you’ve done in the past, but say you took a break for a while, it’s like you can’t just jump right back into exactly what you were doing. That can be emotionally really frustrating for people. But allowing yourself the grace to just be human and trusting the fact that you know that you’re going to get there, that it’s going to happen and you just have to trust the process that some days are going to be easier than others. Some days are going to feel better than others but it’s going to get there. If that’s your goal and that’s what you want, it’ll happen.

On a smaller scale, it’s something to just believe that you can do it, that you’ve got it and if you need extra assistance, there’s always people out there to be helping with that. Then on a larger scale, we’ve got a lot of change that’s occurring and I know that that’s a huge stress for a lot of people. As far as I know, I talked about last week, there’s a lot of various emotions going on for people, regardless of which position they’re sitting in, as far as feeling whether they’ve either been on the more privileged side or more the oppressed side and where they fit into this entire realm of wanting to create the change.

Understanding that this change is possible with bringing community together and there’s going to be stress and emotions, and it’s going to be a longterm thing, any change takes time. It’s going to have, again, just like a smaller scale thing, good days and not so good days. As long as everybody sticks together and we rely on each other, we can do it. That was more of a little bit of a political, not even political, but global thing. I hope everyone can work with that together, but just right now, we all got to love each other. I hope everyone has a great week and I’ll catch you next week. Bye.
