5 Foods To Help The Back

Many people suffer from back pain. Whether these people result to surgeries or medications, both methods can add up financially while not even fully correcting the problem. Thankfully, there are natural and more permanent methods of reducing back pain and protecting the back from further injuries.

When you think of food, you probably don’t think of medicine. When you eat healthy and exercise regularly, you can fight off disease, pain, and even boost your immune system! If you rely on food as your medicine, you will find yourself eating healthier at all times and you will stop relying on medications to ease your pain. This can save you money, trips to the doctor, and it can spare you all of those nasty side effects!

There are many foods that are beneficial in reducing inflammation in the body, which also help to alleviate back or neck pain. Give them a try for yourself and see how they work for you!

Cherries. Tart cherries are proven to effectively reduce muscle strain and pain. To get the same effect, you may also choose to drink 12 ounces of cherry juice twice each day.

Flax seeds. Flax seeds and nuts of any kind are recommended in keeping a strong and healthy body. Snack on nuts, throw some flax seeds in your smoothie or yogurt, and see how great you will begin to feel.

Fish. Regularly eating fish can also help to manage your back pain. However, canned fish is proven to work better than fresh fish. Choose from canned salmon, mackerel, tuna, or sardines that have been packed in olive oil or water.  They are excellent sources of Omega-3 fatty acids and are great for preventing and treating back pain.

Fruits and vegetables. If you don’t like cherries, choose from other fruits and vegetables to alleviate your back pain. Add fruits and vegetables to your meals, smoothies, or have them as a snack. They’ll still be beneficial when you try them with a dip. Just remember to eat more fruits and vegetables on a daily basis, and eat organic whenever possible!

Ginger. Ginger isn’t just great for meals.  It’s also a healthy option for your back! Try a ginger tea made from grated root and boiling water. You may also choose to add ginger to your smoothies, salads, or simply sprinkling ginger into your daily meals.

When you eat more of these five super foods, you will feel your back pain slip away and you will be choosing a natural and more permanent way of alleviating your back pain. You can easily let food be your medicine!
